Humane Society International/India (HSI/India) is the Indian chapter of Humane Society International, one of the world’s largest animal protection organizations. HSI/India is part of one of the few international protection organizations that works to protect all animals- including animals in laboratories, farm animals, companion animals and wildlife with the help of advocacy, community education, animal laws enforcement, policy change and local empowerment.
While HSI has been operating in India for about 12 years, HSI/India was formally incorporated as an Indian NGO in 2012. We seek out innovative and scientifically sound approaches to animal welfare and rely on a network of on-staff and external experts to make the case for policy change to improve the lives of animals and people.
Our vision is to be the most effective animal protection organization in India by gaining the maximum return for animals for every rupee spent.
